With bubbles in hand, hobnob with the wittiest, brightest, cleverest and funniest in the world―your fellow members of Women for WineSense! Come network and create some buzz with the friends you haven’t seen in months (or perhaps since our last event). Hear the buzz as we announce all our 2013 plans for the Napa|Sonoma chapter of Women for WineSense. We'd truly like to see all our members there at this fun event.

Most importantly, we'd like you to bring your friends so everyone can make new friends! Please forward this invitation to your non-member friends. (When you become a member, you can save up to $80 on event tickets annually, in addition to receiving other member benefits. Join now and save $$ on future events!) Exchange business cards with other colleagues in the wine and hospitality industries. To learn a bit more about our host, take a look at this WWS blog post about Gloria Ferrer from last year's event.

~ The Wines ~
We’ll be tasting award-winning Gloria Ferrer wines exclusively, beginning with their Sonoma Brut followed by the 2004 Royal Cuvée and 2007 José S. Ferrer Pinot Noir. Come hear a bit about how sparkling wine is made and about the Ferrers long history in winemaking. (Gloria Ferrer will also be extending a special, one night only discount to attendees on wine purchases on the night of the event.)

~ Guest Speaker ~
Our special guest speaker at BBBII will be Gloria Ferrer's Vice President of Marketing (and fellow woman in wine), Eva Bertran. Having left her native Spain in 1986 — where her own family was in the wine business — she is a member of the original team that launched Gloria Ferrer, and continues to oversee the winery as devotedly as if it were her own family business.
Bertran holds a master’s degree in international management from Spain’s top business school, Escuela Superior de Administración y Dirección de Empresas University (ESADE). Armed with this education, she has lent her astute intelligence and dynamic energy to every job she undertakes. She is instrumental in fostering the Catalonian traditions through every facet of Gloria Ferrer, infusing the company culture with her own casual elegance, quick wit, and enthusiasm. [Read more...]

~ WWS Roundtables ~
Would you love to get to know other members of WWS a whole lot better? You can! Join one of the Napa|Sonoma chapter's roundtables to build stronger relationships with your peers and connect with others working in the wine industry. We'll have several representatives from each of our professional roundtables situated at tables throughout the Gloria Ferrer grand tasting room to explain the benefits and topics covered by each of our 10 roundtables. Best of all, there's no additional cost to joining a professional roundtable (or two, or three!). The only requirement is to be a Professional member of Women for WineSense. Read about a typical roundtable meeting here on our blog, or watch the video below (created by member Lisa Gottfried, of Video in a Minute), to learn about the benefits.
~ Raffle and Silent Auction Bidding ~
Women for WineSense awarded $5,000 in scholarship funds last year to four grateful students enrolled in wine/viticulture studies at U.C. Davis, Sonoma State University, Napa Valley College and Santa Rosa Junior College.
This year we'd like to surpass the total 2012 funds raised to award another four deserving students with scholarships at these schools. Funds are raised throughout the year at our events via raffle tickets, donations from wine industry suppliers and individuals.
There are many ways you can contribute to help deserving students meet their wine and viticultural education goals with us:
All proceeds go to our Scholarship Fund.
Silent Auction will close by 6:45 p.m. at the event.
Space is limited. (We SOLD OUT last year.)
Please register early to ensure availability.
Registration deadline: 9pm on 2/17!
Tickets go up to $45 at the door if you miss the registration deadline!
We hope to see you there! Cheers!
